The Conifer Mountain Music Festival took place Saturday, August 7th at Beaver Ranch just off Highway 285. I could write about the 15 bands and three stages, or the headliner Three Dog Night, or the vendors and artisans that had booths, or the great food. But, what made this a fun experience and a perfect day in the Rocky Mountains were the people. It took over a hundred people, most of whom were volunteers, to set up the festival and clean up the site when everyone else was on their way home. There were 2500 tickets sold to the Conifer Mountain Music Festival. That's a good size crowd to keep happy. And the crowd was very happy. Big O Tires handed out free water to everyone and Whole Foods handed out healthy snacks. There was a variety of food vendors, and of course there was beer, wine, and hard lemonade. Mary Ayers was the volunteer coordinator, she made sure every detail was taken care of - she even made sure the porta-potties did not run out of toilet paper. This was a well organized and well run event. Red Stag Productions was the event coordinator and manager. Red Stag is also the event coordinator for the Bootstraps Western Wine Fest, Grand Tasting is on August 29th at the Evergreen Rodeo Grounds. Bootstraps is a nonprofit that raises money for scholarships and offers zero interest rate loans to mountain area high school students. This events includes two wine maker dinners, one at Creekside Winery, in Evergreen, on August 23 and the other at at Aspen Peak Cellars, in Conifer, on August 25th. Information for the Bootstraps Western Wine Fest is available on Red Stag Productions and Bootstraps' website.
